Marianas Pacific Distributors Inc., or Marpac, recently donated a generous amount of beverages to the Ohala Foundation.

“We’re grateful for the support [of] Marpac. We are in need of these items and they’ll be included in our weekly family food box distributions,” said Ohala Foundation chair Phillip Mendiola-Long.

He said the foundation has already distributed food boxes to over 300 families over the course of 11 distribution events. “That comes out to over 10,000 meals given to families in need,” he added.

Ohala Foundation board member Ed Arriola Jr. said that companies like Marpac “help us continue our goals and we want to thank their owners, their resident manager, Guy Pudney, and the employees of this fine company for their generosity. The assistance given to us by private sector companies and non-profit groups help us to achieve our goals.”

The Ohala Foundation will launching a new “It’s Only .33 Cents Per Day Donation Drive,” which is equal to a commitment of just $10 per month to help feed families in need. “We need 200 people to sign up and commit to just .33 cents per day to help these families [on] Tinian. We’re also in the planning stages to expand to Rota by May and Saipan by October,” Long said.

Interested donors can reach out to the Foundation by visiting ohalafoundation.org or by calling (670) 433-2664. To donate, visit ohalafoundation.org/donate. (PR)
