Rain or shine, the 21st Annual Charity Golf Classic will tee off at 7:30am this Saturday, April 22, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course. The 150 golfers will share in the mission of Hyatt—to care for others so they can be their best—at work and beyond. MarPac will host a beverage station in hole No.9 as well as a Michelob Ultra/Callaway Hybrid Golf Club for the golfer who has the most accurate drive. On the 21st anniversary of the Charity Golf Classic, Hyatt Regency Saipan extends a special thanks to MarPac for their support.

This year, we are especially pleased to have the organization as a platinum sponsor and share in the mission of Hyatt. Their donation is a means for us to provide the support needed by many within our community,” said Tyrell Pauling, director of Food and Beverage, Hyatt Regency Saipan.
“We are proud to support the Hyatt Regency Saipan Charity Golf Classic. MarPac is undoubtedly in support of the mission of Hyatt to help those in need within our community. We encourage golfers to enjoy their time on the greens and join us for the awards dinner that evening, together we rally to support the six beneficiaries who in turn enhance the quality of life for those in need,” said Guy Pudney, resident manager of MarPac Distributors.
In the late 1940s, Ambrosio Torres Shimizu and two other partners founded Ambrose Inc. Initially, the organization sold the surplus of military products and beer to civilians in Guam. After an initial turn down, Budweiser agreed to send 500 cases as a trial of selling, and, it was the beginning of a successful venture for Ambrose Inc. until this day.
Working as a familial team, Ambrosio and his three sons Frank, Joe, and Paul expanded the entity further into the Pacific region of Oceania. In the 1980s Ambrose Inc. entered Saipan and founded Marianas Pacific Distributors (MarPac), and, three years later a branch in Yap, then Pohnpei, Palau, Chuuk, and the Marshall Islands. Anheuser-Busch recognized Ambrose Inc. as the first international wholesaler to sell more than a million cases of beer and soon after as the Anheuser-Busch’s Export Wholesaler of the Year with a record surpassing $10 million. They opened Ambros Micronesia Inc. in Palau and the Western Caroline Islands distributing beer, spirits, and tobacco. In 1988 Ambrosio T. Shimizu passed, nevertheless, his business continues to prosper and serve the Pacific region through the hard work and dedication of his three sons and their team members at every distribution center.
