Marianas Paddlefest 2016 brought to you by the Hyatt Regency Saipan, Windsurfing Saipan, and the OceanSoul Society is set to take place on June 18 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s beachside.

There will be short (approximately 500 meters) and long (3 miles) courses format this year. For the long course, participants have the option of entering as a single paddler or with a 2-person relay team. The long course will include two board divisions: 12ft and under and 14ft.

There is also a youth course, which will be about 250-meter long, set up for paddlers in the 8 to 12 age group.

Similar to last year, interested teams and individuals can register at Windsurfing Saipan which is located on the north side of the Hyatt Regency beachside. Registration is $10 for youth (8-16) and $20 for adults (17 and over) and deadline for submission of entries is on June 15. Boards will be available for use through Windsurfing Saipan on race day for only $5.

“We will have a practice course set up every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm up (with the exception of 5/8) until race day at the Hyatt beachside for anyone interested in coming out to give it a go and prepare for MPF 2016. We will have adult supervision for youth paddlers 12 and under from 1pm to 2pm,” said Dino Manning, one of the organizers of the competition.
