Marianas Cup Weightlifting Championships set for March 27
CNMI Weightlifting is preparing for the second Marianas Cup Weightlifting Championships scheduled for March 27 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multipurpose Center in Susupe.
The competitor entry fee is $5 for CNMI Weightlifting members and $20 for non-members.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, next month’s competition will be the first locally organized weightlifting event since the inaugural Northern Marianas Cup held in February 2020.
Last year’s event saw 15 men and two women compete for 14 medals in seven weight classes. CNMI Weightlifting is anticipating an even larger field this year, according to its president John Davis.
Entry forms for the Marianas Cup 2021 can be picked up at the Latte Built Fitness Center in Susupe and Gold’s Gym in Garapan. Entry forms and fees must be submitted no later than Feb. 26. Weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 9am at the event venue, while the competition will start at 10am.
The public is reminded that all safety measures and directives set by the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force will be in implemented.
