It’s Round 2 for the Marianas Beer & BBQ Festival on Oct. 6, 2018, on Saipan. The festival, organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority, will pair Marianas brews with island-style barbecue and other appetizers beside the Saipan lagoon at Garapan Fishing Base.

“Following the success of last year, we’re looking forward to the return of the Marianas Beer & BBQ Festival in October,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion, in announcing the event. “We learned a lot from our inaugural festival, and we’re taking all of that feedback to make this year even better than the first. We’re planning the same island vibe, along with a number of new ideas we’ll be rolling out shortly, so mark your calendars for Oct. 6!”

The festival is scheduled from 5pm to 11pm and will feature a new 2018 signature beer glass that patrons can use throughout the event and keep as a souvenir. The event will be open to the public but only adults age 21 and older will be allowed to consume alcohol (21 is the legal drinking age in The Marianas). Slated to participate are Saipan Brewing Co, which manufactures the only locally brewed beer in The Marianas, and other companies are anticipated to join.

This year’s festival will again include the participation of Taiwan’s famous Fourplay Cuisine & Bar. Last year owners/bartenders Frankie Hong and Kenny Shih debuted exclusive beer cocktails themed after each main island in The Marianas—Saipan Blue, Tinian Red, and Rota Green. A new signature beer cocktail for the event is anticipated to debut at this year’s festival, and a highlight of the night will be shots created by the bar owners based on personal inspiration provided by each consumer.

Live music, an island-style barbecue, appetizers, and non-alcoholic drinks will also be a part of the evening.
