Manta Ray Battalion cadets take part in ICC

Share

The Saipan Southern High School Manta Ray Battalion cadets participated in their first International Coastal Cleanup last Saturday at Pakpak Beach.

Two groups of cadets were formed. The first group was assigned to clean up the beach’s southern side. The second group focused on the north side.

Battalion leaders kept track of the types of trash being thrown away while the cadets were cleaning. Plastics, cigarette butts, and glass bottles made up the majority of the trash.

Around 9:45am, the Manta Ray Battalion cadets finished their mission after beginning the cleanup at 8am. They reunited and gathered all the trash bags that needed to be thrown away. The Manta Ray cadets are happy with their participation in the International Coastal Cleanup. The cadets benefited from learning how to protect the environment as well as how to maintain the cleanliness of the community. (PR)
