The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) at its Jan. 26 meeting.

Sablan will talk about recent congressional activities involving the CNMI, including the recently introduced Northern Mariana Islands U.S. Workforce Act.

Sablan first took office on Jan. 6, 2009; he is now on his fifth term as the Commonwealth’s representative in Congress.

During his time in office, Sablan has been active in numerous issues of significance to the CNMI. In addition to his efforts regarding the ongoing CW worker immigration issue, he has been successful in increasing funding to the NMI schools, the Commonwealth Health Center, the NAP program, and CUC.

A former Army reservist, he has been active in trying to enhance the federal programs for the Commonwealth’s veterans.

Recent activities have involved efforts to initiate legislation to extend the CW visa program. The NMI Chapter is honored to have Sablan speak to its members regarding the recent pending legislation and his other accomplishments and ongoing projects.

This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club Charley’s Cabaret on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

The presentation is open to the public. Sablan will provide an opportunity for questions.

The presentation includes the PIC lunch buffet at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members.  Seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Penny Jones by email at penelope.jones@hyatt.com or Denise Montenegro at denise.montenegro@hyatt.com or by telephone at 323-5867/68. (PR)
