On June 29, Tuesday, The Department of Public Safety received a tip from an unknown caller about the whereabouts of Roland Kaipat, a man who has been wanted by police since June 23.

According to the anonymous tip, Kaipat, who is facing charges of assault and battery and domestic violence, was seen driving around at about 11am in the village of Chalan Piao in a dark-colored Toyota Corolla.

Upon spotting the vehicle that same day, police conducted a violator stop. As police approached the vehicle, they reportedly saw Kaipat in the driver’s side, along with a female seated in the passenger side, later identified to be Casilda I. Kaipat.

Both individuals were arrested on the spot and were brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transferred to the Department of Corrections where they were booked and detained.

Kaipat was arrested pursuant to an existing arrest warrant issued by the court on June 23. Casilda I. Kaipat was arrested and charged as an accessory.

Last June 23, the court issued an arrest warrant for Roland Kaipat, with bail set at $2,500. A warrant for his arrest was issued following a disturbance call at an apartment complex in the village of San Antonio on June 21. At the scene, police observed a female with bruises on her body. Follow-up investigations revealed that the victim had been hit by Kaipat on June 8, 2021.

According to court documents, Kaipat allegedly pulled the victim’s hair and dragged her across the floor during a heated argument.
