A drunk man posing as a woman allegedly beat up a man and a woman for no apparent reason in Koblerville Thursday night.

Suspect Jason Tira, 23, when spotted by police, was dressed in female clothing and was imitating a woman’s voice.

Tira was arrested on charges of assault and battery and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $250 cash and $4,750 in unsecured bond.

Police detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that a police officer responded to a report of a disturbance at the KB Store parking lot in Koblerville on Thursday, July 24, at 8:09pm.

Kintoki said the officer came upon a woman who was holding her neck and was complaining of severe neck pain. The woman was shaking and gasping for breath. Medics were summoned to the scene.

The victim told the police that she had been sitting on the bench when she saw Tira pushing and slapping a man in the back. Tira then allegedly approached her, slapped her on the face, and pulled her hair. While attacking the woman, Tira was allegedly saying he can beat up anyone there.

The male victim told police that the suspect came out of nowhere and started pushing him.

The two victims said the suspect was wearing a green shirt and Capri-type pants and was posing as a woman.

At 10:31pm that same day, a caller informed the Department of Public Safety that Tira was seen at the former David Market.

A few minutes later, a police officer came and approached Tira, who looked drunk and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage.

The officer said that Tira was dressed in women’s clothing and was imitating a woman’s voice when he interviewed him.
