A retired police sergeant managed to subdue a man who had barged into a Bible study at Grace Christian Ministries in Kagman III, interrupted a pastor, and attacked a person on Wednesday night.

Retired police sergeant Sylvan Rangamar held suspect Patrick Tudela Gibo in a “rear naked choke” position until two responding police officers arrived and secured Gibo in handcuffs.

Gibo, 36, was arrested for assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and criminal mischief. His bail was set at $1,500 cash Friday.

Police detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that people were about to start a Bible study at Grace Christian Ministries on Wednesday at about 6:30pm to 7pm, when Gibo interrupted the pastor by standing up during the session and talking while the pastor was speaking.

Gibo asked the pastor to pray for him, which the people did. After the prayer, Gibo went outside to get some fresh air and water but returned after a few minutes with a fire extinguisher. He then allegedly hit the window of Grace Christian Ministries with the fire extinguisher, shattering the glass.
