Man hurt after car turns turtle in Garapan collision

A man was injured when the Isuzu Rodeo he was driving turned turtle in a collision with another vehicle at the accident-prone intersection of Middle Road and Kopa Di Oru Street in Garapan late afternoon yesterday.
The driver sustained bruises in different parts of his body but managed to get out from the wrecked vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 21-year-old waiter, and his brother helped the injured driver of the Isuzu Rodeo extricate himself from the vehicle.
Medics later arrived and brought the injured motorist to the Commonwealth Health Center.
The waiter said he was with his brother on his way to work at Country House when the accident happened.
The waiter, who was driving a Kia Sorento with license plate ACB-190, said he was heading north along the inner lane of Middle Road when the Isuzu Rodeo, with license plate ABO-675, coming from the Kopa Di Oru Street or the Gold’s Gym area, suddenly crossed the highway.
The waiter’s Kia Sorento struck the Isuzu Rodeo on the left side of the body. The strong impact caused the Isuzu Rodeo to turn turtle and spin toward the southbound lanes.
The waiter’s vehicle, meanwhile, stopped at the inner southbound lane.
Witnesses said that no vehicle was passing the southbound lanes.
The waiter and his brother, together with some passersby, immediately rushed to the Isuzu Rodeo to rescue the driver.
The Isuzu Rodeo had extensive damage, while the Kia Sorento had moderate damage to the left side front bumper.
When Saipan Tribune left the scene, police officers were still investigating the incident.
