Superior Court associate judge David Wiseman has sentenced a man to nine months and five days in prison for possession of “ice” and for reckless driving.
In a written order issued Tuesday, Wiseman sentenced Anthony D. Villanueva to nine months in prison for illegal possession of controlled substance, with credit for time served.
The 33-year-old Villanueva was also sentenced to 33 days in prison, all suspended except five days, for reckless driving.
After completing his sentence, Villanueva will be placed on supervised probation for two years. He was ordered to pay a $300 fine and $125 in court assessment fee, and to perform 50 hours of community work service.
The Office of the Attorney General had charged Villanueva with trafficking of a controlled substance, conspiracy to trafficking a controlled substance, and illegal possession of controlled substance.
In the traffic case, the OAG charged him with speeding, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Villanueva pleaded guilty to illegal possession of controlled substance and reckless driving as part of a plea deal. The remaining charges were dismissed.
