The Superior Court imposed a $50,000 cash bail on a man who allegedly forced himself on a woman.

Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan imposed a $50,000 cash bail on Edward Tudela Sablan, 45, for one count of sexual assault in the second degree. Sablan is accused of forcing himself on a woman and inappropriately touching her.

Bogdan remanded Sablan to the custody of the Department of Corrections and ordered the defendant to return to court today, Dec. 23, at 9am for preliminary hearing and on Jan. 5 at 9am for an arraignment.

At the hearing, attorney Matthew Holley appeared on behalf of Sablan, while assistant attorney general Samantha Vickery represented the government.

According to court documents, the victim told police that on Dec. 11, around 4am, Sablan sexually harassed and assaulted her in her room at a residence in Gualo Rai.

The victim’s mother told police that on a phone call with Sablan that same day, he said she and the victim should move out and move on because he cannot control himself around her.
