A man has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking.

Joseph E. Ada, 35, was charged with two counts of trafficking crystal methamphetamine or “ice” after he allegedly sold $200 worth of methamphetamine on two occasions at his home in lower Dandan.

The Superior Court unsealed the case at a request of the Drug Enforcement Task Force.

According to court information, Ada was recorded selling illegal drugs to a cooperating witness on Aug. 30 and 31, 2018.

At that time, DETF was working with the Office of the Attorney General and had asked that the use of audio and video device and search warrant in connection with Ada be placed under seal to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation.

Ada was arrested on March 7, 2019.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $100,000 cash bail on Ada last March 8.

At the bail hearing on March 8, lawyer Robert C. Lee appeared for the government.

Last March 11, assistant public defender Jean Pierre Nogues appeared for Ada.
