Man blocks car, allegedly tries to stab motorist
A 23-year-old man allegedly blocked a car in Garapan and threatened to kill the driver with a knife on Thursday night.
Eliot Jose Elias was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $5,750 cash. Preliminary hearing is on Dec. 4 at 9am. Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as his counsel.
Police said an officer responded to the Sonoda Apartment in Garapan on Thursday at 9:21pm due to a report of a disturbing the peace incident.
The officer met with the alleged victim who told him that Elias threatened to kill him with a knife. The victim said he had just picked up a friend who resides at the Sonoda Apartment when Elias blocked his vehicle along the road.
Elias walked to the driver’s side window and asked the victim who he and his passenger were. The victim told Elias that his companion is a worker from his business.
Elias allegedly threatened to beat both of them and told the victim to call the police or he would cut his throat.
As the victim was calling the police on the phone, Elias allegedly tried to stab him repeatedly with a huge knife. A witness blocked Elias and pulled him away from the victim.
The victim drove to a nearby tennis court, where he waited for the police to arrive.
