Man arrested for disturbing the peace
On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at about 2:05 p.m., the CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting a disturbing the peace incident at the Saipan Vegas Resort in Chalan Laulau and officers were dispatched to the scene.
At the scene, officers met with a female individual who stated that she would like to file a complaint. An employee of the establishment stated that the suspect frequently visits the resort and harasses its customers. Officers then interviewed the victim and learned that she walked into the establishment at about 2pm to buy a doughnut and a drink, before she took a seat in the restaurant’s lounge area. Shortly after, a heavyset male wearing a red T-shirt and a pair of green pants walked into the establishment, bought a doughnut, and took a seat right next to her.
After a couple minutes, the suspect left his doughnut on the table and walked toward the gaming area. After a few minutes, the suspect returned, sat next to the female victim, and asked the victim to borrow money and her vehicle, which she replied no. The suspect then asked the victim if she would like to fool around with him outside, which she again said no. The suspect got angry and asked the victim if she would like to get busted up, and he placed his arm on her right shoulder. The victim told him to back off and asked one of the employees to call 911. The suspect then fled the establishment and headed south.
Officers notified officers in the area to be on the lookout for the suspect. An officer on patrol in the area spotted the suspect near the Green Consume store. Officers then arrested the suspect, Ryan Pua, for disturbing the peace and assault before transporting him to the Department of Corrections. (PR)
