Man arrested for allegedly making terroristic threats
On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the CNMI Department of Public Safety received numerous complaints of an individual who posted a threat of violence toward on-island leaders through an online platform.
Authorities began investigating after becoming aware of the comment made online, and quickly identified Angel San Nicolas as the suspect. The following day authorities met with San Nicolas at his home, where it was confirmed that his social media account was still active and that he is the only individual utilizing the account. During a second interview on the same day San Nicolas admitted to drafting the comment and gave a written statement regarding the incident.
At approximately 11:15am on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, San Nicolas was placed under arrest for terroristic threatening in violation of the Commonwealth code. He was escorted to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
