Man arrested for allegedly shattering glass window at hotel where girlfriend works
An intoxicated man went to Paradise Hotel in Garapan where his girlfriend works, then during an argument allegedly broke items in her purse and shattered the hotel’s glass window with a punch and kick before dawn Wednesday.
Colin Luzama Kileleman, 27, sustained a 3-inch laceration on his right wrist from punching the window. He was arrested for disturbing the peace and criminal mischief.
At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $750 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for April 26 at 1:30pm.
Police Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that on Wednesday at 3am, Kileleman walked into Paradise Hotel and sat on a chair at the restaurant side.
The girlfriend, who was on duty at the time, walked over to Kileleman’s place and asked where he came from. When Kileleman did not reply, she walked back behind the front desk counter.
A few minutes later, Kileleman, who smelled of strong alcoholic beverage, approached the girlfriend and shouted at her about his cellphone.
The girlfriend was about to give the cellphone, but Kileleman went behind the front desk counter. She confronted him for going behind the counter.
Kileleman called her a “selfish bitch.” The girlfriend said she was shocked because it was the first time he called her a bitch.
Embarrassed, she slapped Kileleman and pushed him out of the front desk.
The girlfriend went to the restaurant and asked the security guard to escort Kileleman out of the building.
Kileleman grabbed the girlfriend’s purse from behind the counter and started going through its the contents.
The girlfriend grabbed the purse. Kileleman then threw the purse on the floor then picked it up. The guard escorted him out.
Outside the building, Kileleman repeatedly forcibly threw the purse on the ground, breaking his own cellphone and his girlfriend’s cellphone charger, a perfume, and a lotion.
The guard subdued Kileleman and called 911.
Police said the estimated repair for the hotel’s damaged window was $304.
The girlfriend disclosed it was not the first time that Kileleman damaged property at Paradise Hotel and that she is embarrassed and scared she might lose her job.
The girlfriend said they once checked in at Paradise Hotel, but instead she ended up paying more than $400 to the hotel after Kileleman got mad at her and broke a table, chair, and door of the room.
