Man Amigos walloped Wazzup in a blowout 30-11 game in the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League at the DanDan Softball Field last Sunday.
In what seemed like a relatively close game heading into the last inning, the Amigos broke the game wide open and brought in 15 more runs. Since the home team was Wazzup, they had one more chance to try and dig out of the 24-run deficit—but to no avail and only brought in three.
The big 15-run inning came from the bats of the Man Amigos’ lineup twice—with a three-run home run by Eric Palacios and another three-RBI, out-of-the-park home run by Jess Guerrero.
The runs kept coming as multiple doubles allowed base runners to come home and replace them in scoring positions. The inning mercifully ended as the final out was made from a pop fly to left field.
Peleliu 11, Hagu La’mun 9
Peleliu outscored Hagu La’mun 11-9, after a two-run home run by Charlie Kenty in the sixth inning ensured their win.
Peleliu was in the lead from the get-go as Alvin Salas scored a three-run home run after a run scored earlier in the first inning for a 4-0 game.
Four more runs came in the next couple of innings while Hagu La’mun could only conjure up four.
Peleliu took a break from scoring in the fourth and sixth, but they were still in the lead as Hagu La’mun brought in three in the fifth off two doubles by John Acosta and Tim Wesley.
Hagu La’mun’s efforts were in vain as Peleliu held on to the lead as only two more runs were made in the last inning.
Redmen 15, Tuturamz 14
The Redmen came out of a close 15-14 game against Tuturamz after a last-inning rally.
Tuturamz had a 14-10 lead thanks to three home runs by Mike Techur who collected eight RBIs. Then the Redmen staged a rally in the seventh inning when Mike Tomokane hit a two-run home run followed by three consecutive insurance runs. An inning earlier, Jaime Reyes had a home run of his own.
Tuturamz then lost the lead and the W when they put up goose eggs in the last inning,
Asahi 17, Tokahao 14
Asahi won against Tokahao, 17-14.
Though no home runs were made by Asahi, they were hacking at the ball and getting results as they hit multiple and consecutive singles to bring in runs.
The bulk of their runs were made in the last couple of innings when they brought in 10, while Tokahao brought in six in the first inning when Manny Villagomez started it with a lead-off home run.
Tokahao couldn’t produce enough runs in the last couple of innings and fell short by just three runs.
Sufa 21, Momma Charo 9
Sufa defeated Momma Charo, 21-9, in a run-ruled mercy game.
Sufa was dominant with the bats again as they took Momma Charo on a wild ride in the first inning, scoring seven to the latter’s five.
A well timed home run with the bases loaded in the third inning resulted in a grand slam by Jun Salalila. Four more runs were to score for an 8 run inning and a 16-5 game.
Only four more runs were scored by Momma Charo including a home run by J.J. Laniyo in the fourth inning. When they couldn’t produce more in the fifth inning, the game ended early as Sufa took the W.
