The Man Amigos and Redmen’s bats were on fire in their games of the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the DanDan Softball Field.

Sufa did not go down without a fight against the Man Amigos, but they succumbed to a 21-27 defeat, while the Redmen thrashed Wazzup, 19-13.

The Man Amigos were down by four runs in the last inning, 14-18, but went on a 13-run rampage to steal the W from Sufa.

Sufa pitcher Tom Camacho suffered from the bats of Man Amigos as he gave up multiple base hits and doubles—with his defense taking hits and committing errors as well.

Out of the 13 runs, a home run was made by Peter Sablan.

Sufa had a hot start with a 12-run first inning off singles and a home run from Pat Guerrero. Guerrero had another two-run home run in the second, but Sufa settled down in the third and fourth inning.

Mario Aguon hit a grand slam but it wasn’t enough to put off the rallying Man Amigos.

In the Redmen-Wazzup game, they started off the game with a lead home run by Lefty Shiro, followed by a grand slam by Jimmy Manalo for a five-run first inning. Only two runs were scored by Wazzup, with only a total of four runs by the end of the fourth.

At this time, the Redmen were already up by 10 points, 14-4, and the lead only lengthened in the last inning with one more home run by Jeff Quitugua. Wzzup tried to play catchup in their last at-bat but came up short as they brought in five runs before the third out for the final 19-13 game.

Hagu La’mun 19, Tokahao 9
In a run-ruled mercy game, Hagu La’mun defeated Tokahao, 19-9

Eight runs were scored in the second by Hagu La’mun with a three-run home run by Kevin Kapileo.

Five more runs came in the fourth with Tokahao unable to catch up. Tokahao’s Rob Bansil scored a two-run home run in the first inning but the team could only produce seven more runs after that.

Momma Charo 16, Peleliu 6
With a slow start, Momma Charo came back to win, 16-6.

Six runs came in the third inning and a home run in the fourth by J.J. Laniyo put them up 14-5.

Peleliu’s hands were tied as they could not make contact on the ball and lost by a long shot.

Tuturamz 18, Aimeliik 1 Time 8
Tuturamz blanked Aimeliik 1 Time not once, but five times in this 18-8 game.

The only runs scored by Aimeliik were in the fourth inning off a grand slam by Cris George, and three runs in the fifth off Tuturamz’s fielding errors.

The Tuturamz had a field day as early on, they scored six runs. They continued to pelt Aimeliik’s pitcher with hit after hit and had two home runs by Melvin Sablan and Henry Reyes in the last inning of the game.
