An apparently intoxicated man allegedly stabbed his son-in-law with a knife and choked him during an altercation at their residence on Navy Hill Saturday night.

Henley Kladikim, 47, was taken to Superior Court yesterday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault, assault and battery, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $20,000 cash; preliminary hearing is on Nov. 2 at 9am.

The victim, Felix Kileleman, was treated by medics due to a cut in his hand, police said.

Assistant public defender Michael Sato was appointed as counsel for Kladikim. Assistant attorney general Barbara Cepeda appeared for the government.

Police said that two officers responded to Kileleman’s mother’s residence in China Town, where an injured person was reported to be there on Saturday at 10:03pm.

Kileleman told the responding officers that his father-in-law, Kladikim, broke into his house on Navy Hill, threatened to kill him, and attacked him with a knife. He said he was forced to run away, leaving his 3-year-old daughter behind.

Two police officers escorted Kileleman to his house and told him to wait in the police car while they cleared his residence.

When the officers opened the door, they found Kileleman’s daughter sleeping on the bed.  Kladikim was not there.

The officer saw the blade of a knife on the floor beside the door near the kitchen sink. On the wall and floor by the door were bloodstains.

Kileleman said he and his daughter were sleeping when Kladikim went inside the house with a knife in his hand.

Kladikim allegedly held Kileleman by the neck and pushed him all the way to the kitchen, pinning him against the wall with his left hand.

Kladikim allegedly tried to punch Kileleman in the abdomen with the knife but he was able to block it with his hand, getting cut in the process.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the wall beside Kileleman’s head, causing the knife to break into pieces.

Kileleman managed to break free, ran out of the house, and proceeded all the way to his mother’s house in China Town, where he called for medical assistance because his hand was bleeding badly.

Medics then arrived.

At 11:49pm, police arrested Kladikim.

An officer noticed that the suspect’s feet were bleeding. He was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center, and after being treated he was taken to the Department of Corrections.
