Man allegedly ignored court order by repeatedly approaching ex-girlfriend
Police arrested a man who allegedly visited and approached his former girlfriend thrice despite a court order directing him not to have any direct or indirect contact with her.
Shaldon James Delos Reyes Kaainoa, 33, was arrested for violating an order of protection, contempt of court, and assault and battery.
At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $12,000 cash bail for Kaainoa.
Preliminary hearing will be on Oct. 6 at 9am.
Police detective Francisco Romeo O. Iginoef stated in his report that Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio issued on June 18, 2014, an order of protection at the request of Kaainoa’s former girlfriend.
In that order that will expire in June 2015, the judge barred the defendant from having direct or indirect contact with his former girlfriend/common-law wife.
On Sept. 19, 2014, the victim reported to police a violation of the order after she saw Kaainoa hiding in the bushes next to her house early that morning. The victim ran to her room on the second floor of the house. Kaainoa allegedly followed her up to the room and started knocking on the door and calling her name. After three to five minutes of knocking, the defendant left the house.
The next day, at 10:32am, the victim reported to police a second violation after Kaainoa suddenly appeared behind her on a bicycle while she was walking with their daughter near a store in Tanapag. The victim got scared and walked away from him. Kaainoa allegedly followed and asked what she will be doing for their daughter’s birthday. She kept walking and did not talk to him.
On Friday at 9:56am, the victim reported another court order violation when Kaainoa allegedly appeared while she was walking toward Tanapag Beach with their daughter. She said she was pushing her daughter in a stroller when the child called out, “Daddy! Daddy!”
She saw Kaainoa approaching them. She advised him of the active court order. Kaainoa allegedly refused to leave and told her he wanted his family back. Kaainoa held her right hand firmly. She pushed him and walked away.
Police arrested the defendant that same morning after he was found riding a bicycle near his residence in Tanapag.
