A man allegedly took his former girlfriend from work to his house on Monday morning on a threat that he would post her nude pictures at her office, and then raped her.

Joseph Aquino Saimon, 42, was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of sexual assault in the first degree, kidnapping, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Saimon admitted in an interview that he threatened to post the victim’s nude photos if she would not go with him but claims they had consensual sex at his house.

At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $50,000 cash bail on Saimon and set the preliminary hearing for July 2 at 1:30pm.

Assistant public defender Jean Nogues was appointed as counsel for Saimon. Assistant attorney general Teri Tenorio appeared for the government.

Police said that the victim went to Department of Public Safety on Monday at 5:26pm to file a complaint against Saimon.

The victim told police that Saimon arrived at her workplace on Monday between 9am and 10am and forced her to leave with him, threatening that he would print her nude photos, post them at her work and send them to her family and friends if she does not go with him.

She said she was forced to enter Saimon’s vehicle but that she did not know where he would take her.

She said Saimon brought her to his house and, when she refused to have sex with him, he brandished a machete at her. The victim told police she was scared, was crying silently, and was in pain.

Police were able to retrieve the machete later.

Medical reports from the sexual assault examination noted bruising on the victim’s neck and forearm as well as injuries to her private parts.
