Man, 78, arrested for alleged indecent exposure

Police arrested last Thursday a 78-year-old man who allegedly exposed his privates to a 13-year-old girl during a relative’s death rosary on Saipan.

Juan Flores Norita was brought before Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo last Monday on charges of indecent exposure and child abuse.

His bail was set at $25,000 cash; preliminary hearing is on Feb. 7 at 9am.

According to police, an officer responded to a report of sexual abuse of a minor made by a school counselor last Thursday.

The 13-year-old girl told the officer that Norita showed his privates in front of her during her uncle’s death rosary in October 2017. The girl said she ran outside the house and started crying. A witness told police of seeing the girl leaving the house during the same rosary and appeared sad. The witness told police that she asked the girl what’s wrong and that she was told that Norita showed her his privates.

Police later met a 15-year-old girl who alleged that Norita told her something last November that disgusted her.
