If you’re looking for a one-stop shop for gift ideas, party supplies, and home décor, then drive down to Making Memories on the ground floor of the CDA Building in Oleai.

Making Memories, which has been in business since December 2017, specializes in party supplies and party favors, gift items, home décor and, curiously enough, all sorts of items associated with tea.

Manager Joseph Cabrera said the shop is popular for gift ideas during special occasions like birthdays, christenings and baptisms, gender reveals, showers for soon-to-be moms, graduations, weddings, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, and other holidays.

So far, Making Memories’ No. 1 bestseller has been its lineup of Gold Canyon scented candles. It’s said to last up to 120 hours of fragrance per candle. In fact, Cabrera said that you could light the candle for only two hours and it’s already enough to last the entire day.

Aside from the scented candle brand, Making Memories also carries an assortment of gift mugs, tea infusers and recyclable infusers, and tea sets.

One particular tea item it retails are products from Los Angeles-based tea importer and wholesaler, Art of Tea. The company blends and custom-crafts the world’s finest organic teas and botanicals. Its teas are selected directly from growers, each one offering a unique story, according to its website.

Making Memories also promotes local products with its endorsement and sale of Coconut Bungalow’s very limited stainless steel straw sets. The “COCO CLUB” duo set comes with a cleaning brush, packaged together in its eco-friendly cotton bag.

Cabrera said a portion of the proceeds from the sale of “COCO CLUB” duo would be donated to the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the natural resources of the CNMI.

Currently, Making Memories has a sale on its party supplies and papersalt books. Cabrera said they’ve discounted their huge inventory of party supplies by 60% and offering a 20% discount on papersalt products.

Papersalt books, according to its website, are books that inspire, empower, and educate kids and families. Its products are designed to engage through the combination of attractive graphics and simplified content.

While sales were down soon after Super Typhoon Yutu last October, Making Memories has been making a comeback lately.

Making Memories is open Monday-Saturday from 11am to 6pm and closed on Sundays. For more information, call 287-4686 or email them at makingmemoriessaipan@gmail.com. You can also find them on Facebook and their Instagram is @makingmemories_saipan.
