Magazine raises thousands for Red Cross Guam
BARRIGADA, Guam—The 2016 Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year Gala raised $23,608.05 for the Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross, according to the magazine in an announcement on Friday.
The Red Cross has been the beneficiary of the event since 1994.
Marcos W. Fong, chairman of the Red Cross Guam Chapter, said, “We are pleased that this event continues to be one of the major fundraisers of the Red Cross in Guam. These funds support the local chapter in its work. Such efforts presently include placing smoke alarms in at-risk homes to allow residents notice of sudden fires and avoid tragedy, as well as the chapter’s ongoing programs.”
Jose C. “Joe” Ayuyu, president and owner of McDonald’s of Guam and McDonald’s of Saipan was named the 2016 Executive of the Year at the gala held on Jan. 21, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency Guam.
