Maga’haga award winner to be named at gala

TAMUNING, Guam—The 2014 First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year Maga’haga award recipient will be announced on Saturday, April 26, at the ninth annual Businesswoman of the Year Award Gala at the Hyatt Regency Guam. The award program brings recognition to businesswomen who have made significant contributions to their industries and have demonstrated a strong commitment to their community. 

The 2014 nominees are Cynthia V. Ecube, attorney, Law Offices of Cynthia V. Ecube; Mildred M. Gabriel, president and lead pharmacist, Meggs Corp., which does business as Guam Rexall Drugs; Monica O. Guzman, CEO and managing director, Galaide Group LLC; Eloisa D. Hudson, owner, Sunglasses, etc., Etcetera Boutique, and ba6 Apparel; Sandra E. Low, owner, Opus One; Liza Ann J. Provido, principal architect, Provido Tan Jones Architects, Inc.; Pamela S. Quinata, general manager and area sales manager, Xerox Corp,; Ester F. Sablan, owner, Saipan Music & Dance Studio; Shirley Ann T. Sablan, executive vice president and general manager, Pacifica Insurance Underwriters; and Deanne S.N. Torre, managing partner, Bigfish Creative.

The winner will be announced at approximately 9:30pm at the gala. The media is cordially invited to the award presentation for photos and interview opportunities. The Guam Business Magazine May-June issue, featuring a commissioned photo study of the winner on its cover, will be released in conjunction with the announcement of the winner’s name.

Proceeds from the gala will fund scholarships at the University of Guam, Guam Community College, and Northern Marianas College. (PR)
