LTA launches $10,000 Founders Scholarship Fund
The Latte Training Academy, a CNMI non-profit, has announced the launching of its college scholarship program for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. The program, which is broken into several distinct categories, will offer $10,000 in college scholarships to eligible CNMI students.
The organization’s Founders Scholarship Fund pays homage to the founding board members of the organization: Arielle Buyum, Jeremy Sasamoto, and Julian Aguon. The program is designed to award scholarships in the areas of specific interests to each founding member, including business, public health and human rights. The program offers three $1,000 scholarships and three $1,500 scholarships. Additionally, the program will also offer one $2,500 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in Education in honor of the Latte Training Academy’s partnership with the CNMI Public School System.
“The current board of the Latte Training Academy is in awe of the work that the founding board members did. Their vision has provided many of our participants the skill set and confidence to join our workforce and aid our private sector. The founding board members forged strategic partnerships with key organizations, including Island Training Solutions, LLC, HANMI, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce and most importantly the CNMI Public School System. The current board felt it was appropriate to honor the work of these folks through furthering their vision,” said current LTA president John Blanco.
