MP United Football Club and Matansa Football Club pounced on their respective opponents in the co-ed U13 division of the 2020 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
MP United walloped Kanoa, 11-1, while Matansa shut down Shirley’s, 9-0.
Matansa got a hat trick from Jerome Mettao to take its first win of the season after drawing Kanoa and losing to MP United last month. Nolan Ngewakl and Javen Camacho added two goals apiece, while Justin Camacho contributed one.
In the MPU-Kanoa tiff, the former had eight players making it to the board to cruise to victory No. 2 and move up to second place in the team standings behind idle TanHoldings Football Club.
Takeru Jim and William Sosa delivered two goals each for MP United, while Stephen Yeom, William Lee, Moshe Sikkel, Casey Chambers, Ian Song, and Miles Linden chipped in one apiece. Kanoa’s lone goal in the match came from Peter Quidato and with its lackluster showing, the team is still winless this season, dropping its fourth game.
