Lopsided victories in youth league

Four teams eased their way to victories in the co-ed U12 and boys U14 divisions of 2017 NMIFA Fall Youth League.

In the co-ed U12 category matches at the Hopwood Middle School Field, Matansa Football Club, MP United, and Kanoa FC-1 all had a walk in the park, while MP United also recorded an easy triumph in the boys U14 age group.

Matansa was paired against Paire and notched a 9-2 win. Jin Xin Wen stood out for Matansa after scoring five goals, while Philip Megino and Chanyang Woo contributed two apiece. Wen made four of his goals in the second half, which started with Matansa ahead by only to, 3-1. Wen, which got his first goal in the 13th minute, had back-to-back in the 45th and 47th and did it again in the 53rd and 55th.

As for Paire’s side, Dylan Mister gave his team its first goal in the 25th minute, while the second game from Max Church in the 57th.

In other results, MP United hammered Kanoa-2, 15-4.

Andrew Chung sizzled for six goals to outgun the entire Kanoa-2 crew. Chung scored in the sixth, 13th, 21st, 34th, 46th, and 52nd minute. Garett Weaver also showed up in MP United’s demolition of Kanoa-2 after making three goals, while Evan Mendiola and Kristopher Pascual chipped in two each. Richard Castro and Leo Takahashi were the other scorers for MP United two.

Edison Jay Viana had two goals for Kanoa-2, which got one each from Minsoo Kwon and Joshua Park.

Kanoa-2’s sister team Kanoa-1 doubled up TanHoldings for an 8-4 victory.

Markus Toves and Daniel Mar Pablo knocked in two goals apiece for Kanoa-1, while Devin Propst, Ruben Guerrero, Paulo Jerome Quidato, and Andrew Sablan added one each. Mark Joseph Roque made two goals for TanHoldings, while Angelo Pulido and Anthony John Bergancia registered one apiece.

Meanwhile, in the boys U14 division, MP United whipped Shirley’s FC at the Koblerville Elementary School Field, 9-1.

Rintaro Miyawaki and Richard Steele teamed up in lifting MP United to another lopsided win. Miyawaki and Steele each scored three goals, while Jerick Quimzon, Dylan Kim, and Rohan Basnet chipped in one each. Shirley’s got its lone goal from Rommel Mendoza.

In other results in the division, Kanoa duplicated MP United’s easy win after getting the victories via forfeiture over Paire, while Matansa edged TanHoldings, 2-1.

Lolobeyong Benito drilled the pair of goals for Matansa with his go-ahead coming in the 23rd minute. His first goal was registered in the 16th minute, while TanHoldings equalized three minutes later off Allen Joshua Morilla’s shot.
