The Division of Revenue & Taxation reminded the public yesterday that the Local Economic Impact Payment 2 stimulus cards issued to taxpayers based on the 2021 income tax return will expire on Dec. 31, 2022.

After that date, the stimulus cards will be deactivated and funds deposited into the local stimulus cards will no longer be available on Jan. 1, 2023. Taxpayers are encouraged to spend the remaining funds within the allowable time frame.

DRT continues to process new card orders and card balance adjustments as 2021 tax returns are processed and cleared of errors.

To report a lost or stolen card, call the number listed on your card to suspend the account, or visit DRT-Taxpayer Assistance window for a replacement card. A valid photo I.D. and Social Security card is required for an instant card replacement.

Taxpayers who have yet to receive a stimulus card are encouraged to file a 2021 tax return or contact DRT to resolve outstanding issues.

For more information, call the DRT Call Center at 664-1040. (PR)
