Here is a trilogy of sonnets on Donald Trump, currently leading the pack of Republican candidates for POTUS:

The Trumpeter Swan’s Swan Song

Though never known to be mute, coy, or cute
This last hurrah didn’t look like his last
Bluster and brouhaha tending towards moot
Blonde bangs bellowing insult and bombast

He trashed both parties on the left and right
With friend and foe saying Go Donald Go
He went on and on Twittering each night
Big ego missing the mixed message though

This Donald ducked questions from all comers
Retorts followed by egregious insult
Racial, feminist, politic bummers
Leading to inevitable result

The big billionaire buffoon’s still alive
Spiraling downward in his last swan dive

Trump The Hack Hacking With Plenty Backing

hair swoons diaphanous around his head
swan wings flow like a d.a. or duck’s ass
comedy horror getting out of bed
for the bumbling billionaire with no class

rolling through news shows leader of the pack
media loves this bread and circus king
hacking up hackneyed insults third rate hack
bringing network’s sponsors plenty of bling

its more than hair and those insults of course
he can’t be kidding himself any more
the fact that he is ahead makes it worse
getting past his bombast news is a chore

so Trump the hack will keep hacking away
till partisan politics has its way

How Do You Solve A Problem Like ‘The Donald’

Megyn Kelly ripped into the belly
of the blonde bellicose billionaire beast
his response nationwide on the telly
cost him women voters to say the least

how do you solve a problem like Donald
how do you get him off your TV screen
his running mate might be a MAC named Ronald
or maybe his lost franchise beauty queen

how could one vote for this uncouth rich guy
who states platform issues with rarity
who gives any random insult a try
accompanied with more vulgarity

so what do I really think of D. Trump
strange, plenty of change, he’s still a cheap chump
