The Lions Clubs International District 204 was still able to hold its district convention in a first-ever video conference last March 14 at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan in Garapan.

Delegates from Guam were initially supposed to come to Saipan, but decided to cancel their travel due to health and safety concerns. They still pushed through with the convention at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa.

The convention focused on the election of first and second vice district governor and the convention site for next year.

After the election, Saturnino “Atoy” Banting of Saipan was elected first vice district governor and Loisa Cabuhat of Guam was elected second vice district governor. The convention site in 2021 will be in Guam.

The annual health fair of the Lions Clubs International District 204, Region 2 on March 29 is postponed at this time.

The Guam side is composed of 18 clubs, while Saipan has six clubs, each club is self-governing. They can have their own projects, events and fundraising but all clubs work as one as a region. There were a total of 124 delegates, Saipan had 64 and Guam had 60.
