Lions Club to hold Sunday Health Fair
District 204, Region 2 of the Lions Clubs International will be holding its annual Health Fair on Sunday, March 13, at Mt. Carmel Cathedral’s Joeten Dai-Dai Social Hall in Chalan Kanoa. The event will be held from 8am to 12noon, and is free and open to the public.
Blood pressure test, sugar/glucose test, vision screening, and eye pressure test are some of the services that will be offered. Individuals who are going to take the sugar/glucose test should not eat at least six hours before the procedure.
Some medical staff will also hold information campaigns on diabetes, cancer, and general health awareness. Free reading glasses will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. nurses, CHCC’s immunization program, PHI Pharmacy, Paradise Dental Clinic, the Commonwealth Cancer Association, and the Guam Marianas Lions Club are the service providers.
Lions Clubs region chair Ladyvir Canape said other health companies are still open to join them on Sunday. “Since we are still waiting for confirmation from our service providers, we are encouraging other health companies to join this medical mission.”
The medical mission is an annual event that is part of the community service done by Lions Clubs’ Region 2,” added zone chair Mario Mayuga.
District governor Daniel Yang, first vice district governor-elect Art Navarro, past district governor Gorin Duenas, PDG Romy Angel, and Guam Marianas Lions Club members are expected to attend the Health Fair.
The Saipan Filipino-American Lions Club, Saipan Marianas Lions Club, Saipan Unity Lions Club, Tinian Marianas Lions Club, and the Rota Marianas Lions Club compose District 204, Region 2.
The Philippines’ honorary consul to the CNMI Eli Arago, Saipan Filipino-American Lions Club president Annamae Adaza, and Bhiya Canadalla of Happy Market are some of the people that District 204, Region 2 of the Lions Clubs International would like to thank.
