The Saipan Fil-American Lions Club recently donated 123 care packages to residents of Capital Hill, Tanapag, and San Roque.
The care packages included 15-lb bags of Calrose rice, a package of butane, four packs of noodles, and canned goods.
“These may be a small amount but we believe it would be of help to our community members, especially in this time, knowing that funding is a huge challenge for all of us,’’ said club president Eden Mercado. She credited the help of donors from Guam and Saipan for the care packages. Among the donors were Arman Amog, Lyn Reyes of Sapphire Ent. Inc., Mila Pellegrino of Saipan Ice & Water Co. Inc., Fe Valencia-Ovalles of Guam Marianas Training Center, Lion Naty Bui of Genpro International, Inc., TSL Foundation, second vice district governor-elect Lion Loisa Cabuhat, past district governors Linda Tolan and Rey Acierto, Felis Amor Relosma, Taro Leaf Inc., and anonymous donors.
“We saw the need and we are grateful to our partners who are always willing to help us and to our members who are serving, even knowing there is a risk in going out at this time,” said vice president Socorro Huliganga.
