Limited slots for coed beach v’ball
A maximum of 12 teams will only be allowed to play in the End of Summer Coed 4-person Beach Volleyball Tournament, which will be held this Saturday at Sandy Beach behind Surf Club in Chalan Kanoa.
The tournament, hosted by Saipan Volley, will be a one-day event with registration and payment of the $10 entrance fee at 8am to 9am. Games will start once all teams have registered.
Tournament director Shawn M. Davis said they put a cap on the number of teams allowed to compete since a concert will also be held at the beach side after their event.
“We’re hoping for eight to 10 teams so more games can be played by all. But we’re putting a cap of 12 teams. The games need to be done roughly around 4pm as the music concert starts at 5pm,” said Davis.
Each team is allowed to have a maximum of six players where one female member inside the court in a game.
Players 18 years old and below must have a signed liability waiver by their parent or legal guardian to be permitted to join.
Those who would join the tournament are entitled for a discounted prize when purchasing tickets for the Marianas Music Festival 2017, which would be held after the beach volleyball tournament.
Tickets, for those who will be joining the End of Summer tournament, will be $18 each, down from its original price of $30.
Tom Basa Jr. & the Marianas Project featuring Marvin Guerrero, Uprooted CNMI featuring Josh Q. Castro, Sensi Roots, Chris Malafunkshun, Mix Plate, and the John Dank Show are the featured artists in the concert.
