Lieto pitched seven complete innings, holding the Jets to three runs on six hits with no walks. He fanned most on the Jets’ batting order with Keoni Pua the only player to escape Lieto’s striking arm.

Frankie Norita, Dave Mata-golai, Henry Reyes, Anthony David, Zack Dela Cruz, Jason Reyes, and Mike Muna were struck out twice by Lieto.

Lieto even pitched three shutout innings before Pua, who led off for the Jets and reached first base on a fielding error by Falcons’ third baseman Jeremy Atalig, scored the Jets’ first run on Norita’s RBI single.

Jess Celis closed out for the Falcons and gave up the other run on two hits with two strikeouts and no walks.

Atalig went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Henry Iguel, who replaced Darren Pua in the seventh inning, had a two-RBI triple in a 1-for-1 trip at the plate and scored one run.

Lucio Kalen and Goru Isakawa made two runs each, while Angel Falig, Frankie Lieto, and AJ Lizama also reached home plate.

Muna took the loss and was tagged with two earned runs on five hits. He struck out 11, but gave up nine walks. Jake Santos pitched one inning in relief allowing four earned runs on four hits with one strikeout and two walks.

The Falcons took the easy win one inning early, as the game was halted after eight complete innings after the Jets was left with an incomplete crew with one of their players needing to go to work. Jets manager Froilan Camacho agreed to take the loss.

Meanwhile, in today’s match, the Fielders and North Starz try to bounce back from respective losses when they take on each other in the 7pm match at the Palacios ball field.

In other news, SBL coordinator Tony Rogolifoi said they are looking for a sponsor to help help them fix the lights of the scoreboard at the Palacios ballfield. For more information, call Rogolifoi at Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium at 234-6672. (Jon Perez)
