HAGATNA, Guam—Maria Eugenia H. Leon Guerrero has been appointed Bank of Guam’s executive vice president for Retail and Card Services effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Leon Guerrero is a graduate of Guam’s St. John’s School, earning her undergraduate degree in International Studies at the University of Washington in 2001. In 2009, she completed her Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington Foster School of Business and joined Bank of Guam that same year as a management trainee. In 2011, Leon Guerrero was named to oversee the bank’s Six Sigma Program and became its strategic planning officer.

In May 2013, Leon Guerrero was promoted to vice president, overseeing the bank’s Project Management Office and its strategic planning effort.

The following year, Leon Guerrero was named Business Services Division manager responsible for all Card Services, and was named in June 2015 as the director of Card Services overseeing credit and debit cards, merchant services and ATMs, while continuing to assist in the development of the bank’s strategic plan.

As executive vice president/Retail Banking and Card Services, Leon Guerrero will oversee Bank of Guam’s primary customer touchpoints including the branch network, online banking and payment card related products.

Leon Guerrero is currently attending the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, and is a candidate for graduation in September 2017. She is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Leon Guerrero presently serves on the board of directors for the Foundation for Public Education, serving as its secretary. She is also treasurer, Rotary Club of Tumon Bay, and serves on the Guam Community College Workforce Advisory Council as its secretary. (BoG)
