Leina Kim continues her historic run for the Colorado State University-Pueblo Lady ThunderWolves after the Women’s Golf Coaches Association named her a first team All-American and an All-West Region selection

This will be Kim’s second All-American honor after she made history in 2013 when she was named to the WGCA second-team selection in her freshman year with the Lady ThunderWolves.

Kim, according to the CSU-Pueblo website, was the first player under the Lady ThunderWolves’ golf program that was named to the All-American selection.

The CSU-Pueblo junior is also a three-time Rocky Mountain Conference Player of the Year that earned her an RMAC first-team All-Conference selection.

She topped five of the nine tournaments in RMAC’s Fall and Spring seasons, where she also placed second, third twice, and 10th.

Her impressive performance in the RMAC earned her a spot in the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf West Super Regional Tournament at the Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, California early this month.

Kim, in the regionals, needed to sink a birdie in the sudden death playoff against Sydney Williams of Dallas Baptist in order to clinch the final berth in the national finals.

She then tallied an 18-over 306 in the nationals at the Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan to improve her 28th place finish two years ago.

Kim, before the Division II Championship, holds the best scoring average per round at 72.47 per round and is ranked 24th overall in scoring average among all collegiate golfers in the NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and NJCAA.

The WGCA, formed in 1983, represents over 500 women’s collegiate golf coaches in the entire U.S. where they encourage and promote female collegiate golfers.
