Legends hoops unfurl at Koblerville

The Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League kick-started its 30-and-over and 45-and-over divisions last Sunday with much fanfare at the Koblerville Basketball Court.

A total of 14 teams paraded during the opening ceremony that was graced by Gov. Ralph DLG Torres. 

Ten teams are seeing action in the 30-and-over age group—NAPA Auto Parts, Vizion Insurance, Changming, Marianas Health Services, Pacific Best Choice, JTM Corp., Blue Haus, Alger Manpower, Pepoy’s Resta Cafe, and Padrino.

The four teams that compose the 45-and-over league are Legends Elite, Blue Haus, JSN Construction, and Vizion Insurance.

In the best uniform competition handed out after the parade of teams, Pacific Best Choice won in the 30-and-over, while Legends Elite was without peer in the 45-and-over.

In the best muse, Venus Grino of NAPA Auto won the 45-and-over, while Jane Olivario of JSN was adjudged the winner in the 30-and-over.

In the actual games starting with the 30-and-over, Pacific Best Choice nipped Vizion Insurance in the opener, 81-78; Changming obliterated Pepoy’s Cafe, 105-48; Blue Haus beat Alger Manpower black and blue, 114-38; JTM routed Marianas Health Services, 77-57, and Padrino surprised NAPA Auto, 76-70.

In the 45 masters competition, JSN debuted strong with a 96-70 win over Legends Elite, while Blue Haus got the better of Vizion Insurance, 101-81.
