The Department of Public Works’ Energy Division Office will be hosting a LED lighting promotional campaign this Friday and Saturday on Rota.
The 2020 Rota Energy-Efficient LED Lighting Promotional and Educational Awareness Campaign will take place on Sept. 11, 2020, and Sept. 12, 2020, during which eight LED light bulbs will be given out to each household that participates in the event.
LED bulbs will be available for distribution on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the day while supplies lasts. The schedule of events are as follows:
-Friday, Sept. 11, 2020: Mayor’s Office parking Lot, 9am-3:30pm, if need be;
-Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020: Mayor’s Office parking lot, 9am-12pm.
The event is intended to help residential consumers reduce the cost of utilities of their homes and to educate the community about the importance of preserving and protecting available natural resources in the environment through energy-efficiency and conservation efforts in the CNMI.
To avail of LED bulbs, residential consumers must present a copy of a valid government-issued identification card and a copy of a most recent utility billing with name on account. If availing for a residential consumer unable to do so, an authorization letter from the account holder must be provided. Businesses, rental property owners and/or landlords are not eligible to receive LED bulbs.
In addition, due to the continued threat of the COVID-19, consumers are asked to observe during the event all posted and applicable health and safety related guidance to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
