A new chapel for Saipan Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been now been completed.
The new structure is located along Katbon Drive in San Vicente overlooking the Lau Lau Bay. It is 8,400 square feet in size, making it considerably larger than the building it replaces. The church broke ground for the chapel construction last July 24, 2021.
To celebrate the completion of the construction, there will be a public open house on July 7, 2023, from 3pm to 5pm. The public is invited to attend during the scheduled times to enjoy a guided tour of the building. Here is a Google pin drop of the chapel’s location: https://goo.gl/maps/2EuwfEWg4pQsaERFA
To conclude the evening, there will be a dance and singing presentation celebrating local culture.
To culminate the celebration the new chapel will be dedicated on July 9, 2023 following normal Sunday meetings beginning at 10am.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Saipan have been previously attending church in a chapel in Chalan Lau Lau but the 40-year lease has already expired, resulting in the construction of the new chapel, which the church technically calls a “meetinghouse.” (Saipan Tribune)
