Latte Built fat loss challenge enters third week
Eight had answered the call of Latte Built owner Derek Cutting’s fat loss challenge with their incredible journey to having a healthy lifestyle at the start of the year entering the third week.
Cutting held weigh-in and body fat percentage test last Jan. 10 at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan. He got all the basic information including the starting weight and body fat percentage of participants.
Most of the participants, in the first full week of the challenge, had already lost two to three pounds, while two of them dropped 2.5 percent of their body fat.
Cutting, the overall champion in last year’s Dee Clayton Championships, has also designed basic meal plans for each week and has been updating the eight of their progress on a Facebook group page.
“I designed a basic meal plan since this is the first time most have done anything like this and learning the basics of nutrition needs focus. I designed a one week plan of five meals per day,” said Cutting.
He added that all meals are high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and moderate in good fats. “No processed food but rather organic if they can get their hands ona it.”
Cutting also assigns a workout plan of the week for the eight participants like the Tabata style workout, which participants continually do in one particular exercise non-stop for one minute.
“Then a second exercise for another minute and so forth. There are 12 total exercises for three sets and each set will take 12 minutes,” said Cutting.
A weigh-in and body fat percentage check is held every week in the 30-day challenge to know the progress of the eight participants.
The Top 3 placers will win cash and other prizes. The overall winner will get a one-month free one-on-one personal training (worth $390) with Cutting, while the runner-up will have a free two-week one-on-one personal training with him. The Top 3 finishers will also get cash prizes with the amount to be determined by the number of participants.
