Latte Academy hands out $11K to 10 students
Latte Training Academy Inc. gave 10 scholarships to 10 students, amounting to $11,000 last week during the graduation ceremony of the fall 2016 Hotel and Hospitality Certification Course.
The scholarships given out were multiple scholarships of $1,000 and one $2,000, totaling $11,000.
The sole recipient of the $2,000 scholarship, known as the Marianas Hospitality Scholarship, is Eloise E. Lopez of Marianas High School and is currently a student of Northern Marianas College.
Lopez completed the Hotel and Hospitality certification course, one of the many courses offered by the academy. The scholarship required recipients of the $2,000 scholarship to have completed at least one course. For the $1,000 variant of the same name, the recipient must either be attending Kagman High School, Marianas High School, or Saipan Southern High School.
“I took this course because I…want to learn more. This could be one of the things that I can actually develop [in the future],” said Lopez. “I want to get a job [in the industry] first and see where I can go from there.”
Lopez was excited and nervous upon receiving the scholarship. “I can’t wait to do much more.”
