Last day to enroll for govt health insurance this Friday

The Department of Finance announced that the last day for government employees to enroll open for the CNMI Government Group Health and Life Insurance is this Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2020.

Supported by Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, the health insurance employee premium rates that were effective July 1, 2018, will remain for the 2020 renewal period.

According to Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig, the government continues to work with its health insurance provider to offer affordable health insurance for all government employees and retirees.

For active government employees, contributions per pay period will be $77.68 for high coverage, $23.86 for low coverage, and $0.00 for basic. An employee and spouse or one dependent will pay $159.22 for high coverage, $48.50 for low coverage and $0.00 for basic. An employee and their family will pay $248.53 for high coverage, $76.32 for low, $0.00 for basic.

Government retirees will pay bi-weekly $84.15 for high coverage, $25.85 for low, $0.00 for basic. Inclusion of retiree spouses or one dependent will cost $173.49 for high, $52.98 for low, and $0.00 for basic. For retirees and their family, $269.25 for high coverage, $82.69 for low, and $0.00 for basic.

Pacifica Insurance, Underwriters Inc. general agent for Aetna Insurance located in Susupe at the Joeten Center, first floor, will be available to assist new and existing members. (PR)
