Landownership

My issues is land ownership: I have been trying to apply for land on Saipan. I was born in the Navy Hill Hospital back in 1960 on Saipan and grew up in Garapan. My parents were Rosa Quidachay Arriola and Jose Fausto Arriola. All these years, I’ve been applying for land and I got turned down due to my resident status. I was told that I can’t apply for land since I’m not residing on the island. According to our former House representative, that person who turned down my applications and informed me that I can’t own any land has given me false information and has lied and cheated me out of what I deserve as a bona fide resident of Saipan.

I’m speaking for all Saipanese that has left the islands due to job relocations, we should be able to own a piece of land even if we’re not residents. The government is discriminating against us.
