Lady Eagles still undefeated in MS v-ball

The Grace Christian Academy Lady Eagles varsity volleyball team remains undefeated in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Middle School Volleyball League 2022-2023.
The Lady Eagles triumphed over Hopwood Middle School Hilitais after two sets, 21-9, 21-16, last Tuesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium for its seventh win in as many outings.
The Hilitais were no match for the mighty Eagles’ serves and attacks at the net with the first set ending as swiftly as it started. The Hilitais put on a better fight in the second set but was taken down by an onslaught of consecutive points by the Eagles’ six to keep their streak alive going into the holidays.
In other results that night, Saipan International School varsity bested Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, 23-21, 21-17; Tanapag Middle School varsity team came back to win the tie-breaker third set against Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 16-21, 21-5, 15-8; Dandan Middle School varsity defeated Mount Carmel School, 21-18, 21-17; and TMS junior varsity shined against DMS junior varsity, 21-17, 21-12.
In the standings behind GCA is TMS with a 6-1 card, followed by SIS and HMS tied with five wins and two losses each; DMS are at a 3-4 record; MCS and COVMS are at 2-5 each; SCS is at 1-6; and FMS is at 1-7.
The final regular season game will resume on Jan. 10, 2023, with the double-elimination tournament playoffs set to begin on Jan. 12 and the championship game to be played on Jan. 14.
