Kosebakl wins second game in BASA

Kosebakl managed to pull off a 15-10 victory over Hotshots in the women’s division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Softball Association League yesterday at the Dandan Softball Field.

Early on in the first inning, Kosebakls’ hitting started off strong as they put up six runs against Hotshots pitcher Lem Ogumoro. Angela Muna started off the Kosebakl’s momentum after getting the first hit, until Ogumoro finally shut them down after the 10th batter in the lineup.

Hotshots almost came out empty in the first inning but managed to score in one run, courtesy of Erica Tenorio, but they came up with only two hits against Kosebakl pitcher Jennie Scaliem.

In the second and third innings, Ogumoro managed to silence Kosebakl to keep them at six runs, while the Hotshots managed to put up three runs in the second inning and five runs in the third inning to make it 9-6, Hotshots. 

The Hotshots seemed like they were able to keep their lead as Kosebakl scored just one run in the fourth inning to make it 9-7. However, Kosebakl was not done as their bats came alive again in the fifth inning after scoring two runs to tie up the game 9-9. Hotshots answered and put in one run in the fifth to lead by one run, 10-9.

In the final inning, Hotshots was in the lead by one run, but Kosebakl took that away when the ladies scored six runs after the Hotshots pitcher was not able to shut down their whole line-up. Hotshots were unable to retaliate and Kosebakl took the win, 15-10.

Angela Muna, Sonia Isaac, Keyona Tudela, Mardina Kaipat, Jennie Scaliem, Hermina Kelley, Heather Kladikm, Vine Ngirablosch, Kayla Kaipat, Shayne Matsutaru, and Hayolani Henley played for team Kosebakl.

Brittany Lizama, Erica Tenorio, Becky Repeki, Janica Lizama, Keona Rogopes, Lem Ogumoro, Ashlie Aguon, Menchang Blas, and Devonne Sablan were in the lineup for team Hotshots.

With this win, Kosebakl is at 2-0 and Hotshots is at 1-1.
