LITERARY NOOK
‘Kompromat’
“Something is rotten in Denmark” from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. It implies corruption, that something has gone wrong in an organization or situation.
Trump frequently calls Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation of campaign 2016 collusion (now called conspiracy) with Russians a “rigged witch hunt” and “all a big hoax.”
Hoax? What exactly is it that 45 smokes? As he breaks security wheel spokes inviting Russians into the Oval Office, looking for a witche’s broom? find one in the Oval Office room. Looking for security leaks? find some when 45 with Russians speaks. Looking for a KGB agent we should fear? Find Putin in private talks in Trump’s narcissistic mirror.
A Trump tweet, Monday, July 16, 2018 “\Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse, many years of US foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!” The Russian Foreign Ministry response was “We agree”. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell (R), “The European countries are our friends, and the Russians are not.”
In Russian politics “kompromat” is short for “compromising material” It is damaging information about a politician or other public figure used to create negative publicity for blackmail or for ensuring loyalty. Here the Steele Dossier comes into play.
How many angels can fit on V. Putin’s head? How many angels can fit on a Russian king-size bed? How many angels does it take to stop the witch hunt? How many angels does it take to stop 45’s right wing front? How many angels have been falling due to Trump’s calling? How many angels will have to use axes to break open the locked box with Trump’s income taxes. How many angels does it take to pressure Trump to say something ‘measure for measure’ about Putin and ruble treasure? How many angels forsooth until DJT begins to tell the truth?
Something is rotten in Washington D.C.
Does it bother you as much as it bothers me?
a witch speaks in Shakespeare’s Macbeth,
“double double toil and trouble…”
a partial witch hunt recipe.
