Kilili urges youth to register for Congressional Award program

Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) is inviting people between the ages of 13 ½ and 23 to register for the Congressional Award program.

The Congressional Award is the highest award that students can receive from Congress.

“This award is not a competition, but a journey [toward] self-improvement. Any young person in the Marianas that has the determination to meet their goals in the fields of personal development, voluntary service, physical fitness, and exploration can earn the Congressional Award,” said Sablan in a Facebook post.

To help potential applicants get started, Sablan’s congressional office will host two virtual sessions on Feb. 25, 2021, and march 4, 2021.

The Feb. 25 session will be tailored to current Congressional Award participants and will be about finding creative, innovative, and safe ways to fulfill your goals during the pandemic.

The March 4 session will provide an overview of the program for new and prospective participants. District staff will walk students through the four program areas, award tiers, registering for the program, and logging your activities.
